Effective May 3, 2026

EstatePacket (“EstatePacket,” “we,” “us”) operates this site at estatepacket.com and the application at app.estatepacket.com. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We write it in plain English on purpose.

Who this applies to

This policy covers two groups: (1) firm contacts who reach us via this site, and (2) executor or firm users who submit decedent identifiers in the application. The Draft Estate Packet itself is delivered to the firm, not to a beneficiary; we do not market to beneficiaries.

Information we collect

From firm contacts. Name, work email, firm name, and any details you choose to share when you book a demo or email us. We log standard request metadata (IP, user agent, referrer, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

From application users. The decedent identifiers you submit at intake: full name, date of birth, date of death, last known addresses, executor email, and any matter notes. We log standard request metadata as above. We do not collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, account balances, or financial-institution credentials, and the application does not access financial institutions on behalf of executors.

What we do not collect. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. We do not embed Facebook, Google Ads, or LinkedIn pixels. The site uses no cookies that require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

How we use it

We use submitted information to (a) query public-records sources scoped to the matter, (b) generate the Draft Estate Packet for attorney review, (c) communicate with the requesting firm about the matter, (d) operate and secure our infrastructure, and (e) comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not use intake data to train third-party machine-learning models.

Subprocessors

The application sends decedent identifiers to a public-records data layer that includes: MissingMoney.com (live, California-scoped lookup), and cached local snapshots of FINRA BrokerCheck, SEC EDGAR, and the Los Angeles County Recorder, the last of which is presented as a synthesized illustration of the workflow rather than a real recorded-instrument index. Drafted narrative text in the packet is generated by Anthropic, Inc. (Claude API); intake content sent for narrative generation is not used by Anthropic to train its models per its commercial terms. Hosting is on Vercel (marketing) and Railway (application backend).

Retention

Matter data is retained for the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable archival period required for professional-services records (typically up to seven years) unless deletion is requested earlier. Marketing contact data is retained until you ask us to delete it or for two years of inactivity, whichever is sooner.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing privacy@estatepacket.com. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for the application database, principle-of-least-privilege access controls, and routine dependency updates. No system is impervious; if we discover a breach affecting your information we will notify the affected firm without undue delay.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

When this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and notify firms with active matters by email.
